ASANO started manufacturing stainless steel fishing gear and ship fittings in 1977. Among many products the company has created, ASANO’s legacy product, the Auto Shackle, was developed ahead of other companies over 20 years ago. Its functions proved to be innovative and the product has received overwhelming support. Recently, Type II and III have been developed to meet an expanding range of requirements. These products are actively used for tasks where connection and release actions are required.

ASANO’s stainless steel fishing gear uses special stainless steel with superior corrosion- and abrasion-resistant characteristics. This type of stainless steel is ideal for tools that are used at fishing sites where tools are always exposed to seawater. We analyze the characteristics of raw materials, such as hardness and tenacity, and manufacture products suitable for locations and intended purposes of products based on our experience of developing metal fittings required by the fishing industry.

The variation and special features of ASANO’s products have proven popular among many customers in Japan, and highly evaluated by fishermen in particular for years. Currently, our products are being exhibited in overseas exhibitions and used by fishermen for round haul net fishing and longline fishing in oceans off various countries around the world such as the U.S., Spain, Norway, Mexico, and Australia.
